Kicking off Hispanic Heritage Month, this unique event will honor Idar's historical impact with the release of her commemorative quarter, including a ceremonial "coin pour" to mark the occasion.

The Jovita Idar Quarter is the ninth coin in the American Women Quarters™ Program. Idar devoted her life to fighting against separatist ideologies and sought to create a better future for Mexican-Americans. She believed education was the foundation for a better future.
