Martha L. Aki
Martha Aki was involved with Texas Early Childhood Intervention for thirty-two years, both as a Early Interventionist and an ECI Program Director for Katy Independent School District. During her forty years as an educator, she taught hearing impaired students, kindergarten, Early Childhood Special Education and Early Intervention. Aki led innovative practices for children in ECI, the transition process from IDEA Part C to Part B and a group coaching model that included the parent, child and ECI provider. Aki was also the Chair of the Texas Council of ECI Program Directors Consortia. Aki coordinated the relationship between Texas ECI Program Directors and Health and Human Services State Staff. A Katy ISD District Facility was named in her honor. Martha Aki is co-owner of Seedling Solutions, an Educational Consulting Firm. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Special Education of Hearing-Impaired Students from Trinity University in San Antonio.
